Our big project this trimester will be wall masks. Students will have five weeks to create intricate masks using the techniques they’ve learned all trimester.

Today we’ll be glazing our bento trays. Students can use the traditional glazing techniques we’ve been using or can try out underglaze pencils to draw or write out the types of food they’d like to use their bento tray for.

Students will not only learn how to make a wall hanging frame, but will also be introduced to the techniques of sgraffito glazes design!

Today we’ll be adding a clear coat to bring out the nerikomi marbling and learn how to use wax resist on the bottoms of our pieces.

Plant tiny succulents and moss in house planters.

16 features and accessories will be written down on a piece of paper. Each student will pick from a hat a thing they’ll sculpt. The features and accessories will then be added to a lamp base.
